I was at my small group recently and the person leading it all asked us to close our eyes and think of one to three ways that God has been showing me His love and favor recently. The biggest way I could describe it is how much care I’m feeling from Him right now. These are a few ways He’s been showing me how much He cares about me… even in the little details of life.
1. it’s in the little things
whether it’s praying for a parking spot to open up and one happens to right in front of me (doesn’t happen just once but several times this week) or having people come through for me when I need help or need to hear something, God has really been loving me through the little things which makes me very thankful. Also, my sweet roommate introduced me to pour overs and I don’t think I ever want to drink my coffee differently. Speaking of my roommate, I recently moved into a house that I probably would’ve considered a dream home if I was younger – you know one of those charming houses that has a sunroom and a tree that’s good for reading under and lots of grass and fruit trees.. yeah, this place has all those things. 🙂
2. everything is going well with my serbian mission trip and my passport renewal… so far, at least (upside down smiley emoji here)
I want to write a separate blog post about this but I was in israel a few weeks ago and my passport got stolen. Thank God, there was a US embassy in Jerusalem where we were staying at the time and I got a emergency purple passport issued. I was able to get home to America. All was good and well until I realized it might not be possible for me to use the emergency passport for my mission trip that was happening in a month (at the moment of writing, 10 days from today). I called the passport agency a few times and every time I talked to someone, my panic levels slightly increased because they kept telling me that they’ve never heard of a purple emergency passport. I had a few people recommend for me to try changing it to a full valid passport but since there was less than a month left, there was no point for me to send in my passport since all of America is unfortunately changing their passports at the moment, after the Covid-19 era. The only way to do it was wait until it was 14 days until my flight and the passport agency only then would schedule an appointment with me to get a same-day passport. Thankfully, the people at the passport agency made me an appointment before my trip… granted, it is THE DAY BEFORE my flight but definitely still doable. I’m just praying that they will issue me a passport same day because then I’ll have to risk flying on my emergency passport which would be my backup.
3. the way He meets me where I’m at
4. i’m checking off all kinds of trips off my bucketlist
This year is my year of international trips! I’m going three times out of the country this year. A few weeks ago, I came back from a two week trip in Israel. In two weeks, I’ll be going on a mission trip to Serbia and our team is going to Budapest, Hungary for a couple of days at the end of the trip. Then, in the end of September, I’ll be going on a girls trip to Germany and Italy. God has been so good to provide the PTO and finances for all my trips. I also always like to have something to look forward to and I still can’t believe I’m going to be out of the country for four more weeks this year!
